Top 3 Tips on What To Wear To A Coffee Date
My first ever date after I got separated was for coffee… on Valentine’s Day. Yup. Talk about an opportunity for total awkwardness.
But we were super mature adults about it and cleared the air ahead of time: “I don’t really care about Valentine’s Day anyway. My ex and I never celebrated it.” “We can just pretend it’s just another day.”
Once we got that part out of the way, I was left with “What to wear to a coffee date???!!!!!!” I hadn’t been on a first date in what felt like centuries.
I proceeded to try on approximately 8000 outfits before almost canceling and then finally settling on jeans that made me feel great, cute ankle boots that I could walk in, and a blouse that felt just dressed up enough for a Saturday at 4 pm. After all, maybe the date would go longer than just a coffee.
(Sidenote: the date did not go past coffee. But I was prepared in case it did!)
My first date outfit was fairly simple, right? The key element was that I felt really good walking out my door and into the coffee shop. I was nervous enough about the date; it helped to not also feel nervous about wearing something new or a type of outfit that I wasn’t used to.
